About Me:

I'm Joe Bigland.
I am a digital/traditional Artist and Game Designer and a Games Design Masters graduate, studied at Lancaster and Morecambe College, and the University Of Central Lancashire.

My ambition for creating video games, card games and art come from a childhood sense of wonder when first discovering video games as a form of entertainmant, as well as an art form that can be explored in depth, and creating my own games can help me and others understand how many kinds of games are structured and developed over time.

My personal favourite games that have been my biggest inspiration are Dragon Quest, Dark Souls, Shin Megami Tensei, Pokemon, The Legend Of Zelda and Runescape. All of these franchises have struck a chord with my interests.

Before entering college, I had began to conceptualise my most ambitious projects through drawing them out as concept art, for both the characters and their world-building. As i practiced more, I started to gain my bearings of how to draw at a more advanced level. My methods of drawing and artstyle have been influenced by various games, all of which listed earlier.

  • Character Design for Humanoid and Animalistic Characters

  • 3-D Modelling

  • Skill using Unreal Engine to Block-Out Environments and Blueprint

  • Skill using Maya 3D
