

Dream Roamer is another GBStudio game where Claire Houston is trying to escape her nightmares through various platforming levels, battling various kinds of nightmares.
This was my second GBStudio project after making the initial early versions of Knight Of Tarot, where I had tried to create a platformer as opposed to a Top-Down 2D game.

This is the sprite sheet for Claire Houston, the main character of Dream Roamer. Making her sprites posed the challenge of visualising her different legs through the use of colour so that the walking animations looked smooth.

Claire's health bar was made to represent the moon's phases, since the main game takes place within her dreams. The main inspiration for its appearance came from Shin Megami Tensei's moon phases, and I also needed the bar to be compact on-screen so it did not take up space.
